Five for Friday!

I am beyond excited about participating in this linky party with Doodle Bugs Teaching this week! You probably don't know me... well of course you don't....I just started blogging a few days ago! This is my first time participating in this Five for Friday" linky, and loved the idea.

So...here we go!
This was a big week for me when it comes to soccer. I am a super fan! First, my son started competitive soccer, although I'm a little nervous because even though he is only 15, he was placed in U19. We'll see how that goes!
Equally important, Copa of America has started! Can't wait for Argentina to play! (and win! of course!) We'll see how that goes too! Vamos, Vamos Argentina! Vamos a ganar! Maybe I should disclose that I'm originally from Argentina, just in case you had any doubts! LOL!

I started reading Leaving Time by Jodi Picoult, for the second time. I just couldn't find anything I really wanted to read at my library. The books I want to read were already checked out, and there is a waiting list, so while I wait, I decided to read it again. If you haven't read it, I highly recommend it. I love books about elephants, and books that leave you thinking, even days after you finished reading. After reading this book I like elephants even more!

Came across this new Pete the Cat book, and thought it would make a great graduation gift for my son who recently finished 8th grade. Turns out that "Pete the Cat's Groovy Guide to Life" was excellent for his age, and for the occasion, even though you might think it's a young children book. If you didn't have a chance to take a peek yet, the book contains all these great quotes by famous people, such as Oscar Wilde, Albert Einstein, Pablo Picasso, Helen Keller, and many more. So, if you are looking for an original and memorable graduation gift, I highly recommend it.

Yesterday we had a rainy night and I thought it was perfect to watch a movie. We ended up renting "McFarland USA". WOW!
Sometimes it's hard to find a movie that the three of us (my husband, my son, and me) will enjoy, but this one... we absolutely loved it. It delivers so many messages, from how far can you reach your students when you truly care for them, to the people behind the produce we consume every day and how little we know about it. True story. Bravo Coach White for being so faithful to these kids and remaining in McFarland to help them to better lives. This one is definitely a MUST SEE!

I left the unpleasant one for last. This week I had to have done a root canal, and I'm a little worried because the dentist mentioned that normally the molar I had problems with has 3 canals, but he could only find 2. He thought that maybe I'm in that small percentage of people who only has 2 canals. I'm starting to think that I still have a canal hiding somewhere because it's still bothering me. Hate going to the dentist! But, then again, I don't know of anybody who enjoys going there, do you?
Until next blog! Hopefully I will have better news by then!
